Week 6 - Bournemouth Eagle Labs Environment Design

Bournemouth Eagle Labs Research

Matterpoint used photogrammetry and AI like in the Manchester Eagle labs to capture this environment to be view on the web as a virtual tour. The area they like us to focus on is Bournemouth Eagle Labs - Clearly miles away from Manchester to view in person. But this doesn't matter one bit.

Lets recreate that environment in 3D

Using the measuring tool that is build into the Matterpoint experience I was able to quickly but accurately map out the 3d space ready for Unity import.

The result was really true to what exists, I have used zero textures in this yet it still looks rather good. More will improvements of this in the coming days as I get it ready to export over to Unity.

To be clear I am focusing on just the makerspace room here as this is where the proof of concept of the VR interaction will be intergraded & to cut down on processing power we make the other areas modular so it only loads one room at a time.

Ultimaker 3d Printer

To keep things consistent with what Eagle labs have I quickly created a Ultimaker 3d printer that I am able to now experiment getting interaction to work with in VR.

Meeting Eagle Labs: Wednesday 11th November @ 10am - I will be working towards creating a 5 minute short presentation to show the client what I have so far.
